50th's and Carols

Long, long time and no update. I don't even know what to write about! Hmm...let's see. Well, at the moment I'm on my lunch break - but stuck at the office because my car (actually Mum's, mine's in getting fixed) is 'reserving' Suzy's carpark in the Centrelink carpark. I get my own carpark, so yeah - go figure. Anyway. That's my introduction and my story. I'm very out of it today. A few of us are though.

I have a new pic of Baz and me on my desk at work - it's lovely, it's a really nice photo - of both of us. I very much like it and it is nice to look at - until it distracts you! Had a trip over to Morwell this morning. Yeaaahup, that's right, it was so fun - but not really. I had to drive over to hand deliver something urgent.

So...below surface girl come on, what's going on?

This is still surfacae probably, but we had Mum's 50th party on the weekend (her actual birthday is tomorrow). It was a concert of my family's musical talent - as requested my Mum. And a quiz that Liam and Melissa made up. I was a contestant, along with Uncle Ian - Mum's brother, Gran - her mum, and Mrs. Rode - the friend. I won - hands down hey guys? We each did a couple of things and then the rest of the night was just like a supper and chit chat. I did two songs, 'Always Be My Home' - Rachael Lampa and 'Why?' - Nichole Nordeman. The last item was a song that us four girls had written. Well, Rich wrote the music and Cathlyn wrote the melody. But we each wrote a verse of which we sang. Rich was on keys, Mike did a bit of acoustic guitar work and Baz played around on the bass. It was pretty cool. It brought Mum to tears - although that wasn't the only thing that did! Anyway, I think that she enjoyed the night, it was quite fun I thought. I helped with the presents and packing them into the bags and stuff.

Last night, Baz drove himself and me to Paky in his new car (Toyota Aurion Sportivo...insert some letters that make it better here) for the Pakenham carols. CrossExamine was playing a few songs - some 'carols' and a couple of Christian songs (Newsboys and Planetshakers). It was really cool. It was at that Lakeside place - that I always drive past and never go into, it's really, really nice. Afterwards, (spelling?) we walked around the lake and took some band photos and some individual shots of the crew (7 of them). It was nice 'cause there was the band, their other half's (minus Liz, she was visiting a friend) and a few others. I can't really explain why it was nice, I just enjoyed it muchly. I think it had something to do with the lake and the area...water in the form of a lake, pond, river, ocean - how 'bout I just say 'natural' - appeals to me! But the photography ideas and stuff - that's right up my alley...I liked envisioning (right word?) the pictures myself, or perhaps what Matt (that's his name, yes?) had but I'd alter a little bit. Then we all went out to LaPorchetta for tea and back to watch the fireworks. It was really nice, lots of fun, LOTS of laughs - if you get Jordo and Baz started...everyone else goes off...and THEY don't stop for a good while. But it's awesome! Hehe. Anyway, that's about all for me right now.

Might check my other email then get back to work - even though I've got about 30mins to go!
