a good weekend

So...we'll start with Friday night.

I'd organised a girls night which was cool. But then on Thursday night Loz cut her leg with a chainsaw! So she couldn't make it to the night...even though we woulda looked after her! So instead, it was random and we took the pizza to her! So that was pretty fun. Yummy as pizza too. Mmmm...Domino's is so good. We kinda stayed there for a while, but it was getting late, so we took it back to Baz's (the selected venue, he was ever-so-kind lending his house to us!) to watch a movie. After much thought...really!! We watched 'Hitch'. Hehe, it's cool to hang out with just girls sometimes! Not everyone could make it, but I think we still had a good time.

Saturday...the 13th...Khatt & Adam's wedding! It was such a lovely day. The weather was so warm and beautiful! I don't know, it was just...nice to have such a lovely day amongst so many crummy days. And two Saturday's in a row! We made it to the wedding and put the ribbon up on Baz's car (wedding car...Khatt stayed at the venue of the wedding though). I've never been to Montfort Manor (I think that's right)...it's quite lovely! I was allowed to use my camera for the day, so that was really cool. It takes excellent shots. But it's all on auto at the moment, so I kinda feel like it's not all me. So I'm really keen to learn more! It was such a lovely day - an outside wedding suited the day very well! They all looked pretty nice! The reception was nice and cruisy too. Good work to Adam's bro, the best man's speech was pretty much the best!

Baz and I then choofed off to Levi's 'Take Me Back to Africa' concert in Diamond Valley. We missed the two warm up band's, the speaker and most of the video about child soldiers, but we saw a bit of that...and Levi! He is a very talented musician. And both him and his wife, Megan (Meagan?) are very genuine and friendly people. It was a lovely night. I really enjoy getting to know the people Baz likes best. And it's just hilariously funny how Levi talks about Baz's car. He _really_ likes it.

We travelled back to Moorolbark and stayed at Flik's house for the night. As they're always welcome to having anyone and everyone stay at their house. It's great. I really like that, I hope to be able to do that one day! Charged my camera because it died and pretty much went straight to bed. Next morning (kinda had the 'sickies' still), I was pretty groggy. But got up, met Flik's Dad. He's great, so friendly...laughs a lot! I love it. And then we pretty much went to Em's birthday brekky. (You can see photos on her Facebook!)

It was so good. Bagels, muffins, fruit - a huge variety, yoghurt, donuts, bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, pancakes, tea - a large variety, coffee, hot chocolate, different juices...have I missed anything? It was so great! I got to catch up with some old YITSies so that was really awesome. Didn't stay for a huge amount of time, but just enough to catch up with people! I had a good talk to Juz. It was cool 'cause a lot of my small group was there since Em was in my small group. Heaps good to be able to see them all again. I hate that I'm far away and I just can't randomly drop in.

We decided we go to Flik's church - Moorolbark Baptist...but missed it! Ran into her family though so went back to her house and then went and had lunch with them at Lilydale Lake (plus a grandson or two and Flik's best friend). It was a lovely time, got to take lots of photos on my new cam. Even Baz had a play...betchya he loves it now. Maybe. I don't know! It was good to talk to Flik's Mum too, about America options, nannying, whatever...you know. I think Mum told her about it at the youth service the week before.

Anyway, journey home was alright, I think I slept for a bit. We found out that Hazelwood mine was on fire (Baz has just started working there as a Technical Officer). Apparently you could see it at the side of the road. I have pictures, but I don't think I can be bothered loading them! There was a lot of smoke though.

I have a feeling we came back to something on Sunday night...yes! We did, a few of the CasBak members had a jam then we watched a bit of Verrrronicaaa Marrrs. And headed to the Baptist youth service. It was pretty good. Quick, but it was alright hey. I liked chatting to people after at the shared tea. It was very good. Anyway :) That's 'bout all I've got time for.
