baz's birthday

I totally missed out on November! :(

Before I share a bit about Baz's birthday, I'll share a bit about Friday night.

At my church Friday night, Sons of Korah were having a concert to raise money for the Bible Society. We were a bit late...'cause I was forgotten :( No hard feelings, lol. We made it there anyway and sat next to Matt Leak - that was cool. There was a warm-up band which was one of the guitarists and another chick, they were pretty good. Easy-listening, talented and cruisy blues! Then there was this guy Cameron, a poet. He was SO amazing! Very clever with words and performs quite well! He has re-written bible stories in alliteration. He made himself a challenge to make the whole alphabet, so he did! He has A-Z and Ch, Sh and Th! So for example, W is 'Water, Wine and a Wonderful Wedding'. And in that story Jesus is the 'Wonder-Worker'. It's really clever! So he was hilarious - very good, interesting!

Then Sons of Korah played. I hadn't really heard much of their music before, heard a reference from Compliments of Gus once. But, turns out I knew more than I thought. I love their ethnic, middle-eastern sound. Mmmm...it's great. Percussion makes it and the groovy guitar chords. Anyway, I really enjoyed the night :) I've been listening to them a bit over the weekend and whenever I go in Baz's (work) car too. There were so many people there that I didn't expect to see there. Mum and Cathlyn got to meet Baz's aunty - that was cool. And they all remembered Katie from the youth service so could make the connection of her mum. I, however (and Baz really!) got to meet Cousin Jean. Baz's 2nd cousin who had never met anyone - from Northern Island. Nana Lily (Baz's Nan) left Ireland when Jean was 7, so she barely remembers her even! She was very friendly, easy to talk to and yes, ofcourse - I love her accent!! :D If we ever want to go to Northern Island, we are welcome there - so that's awesome! YAY!

Anyway, Baz's birthday. So, we had V8 most of the day and then an egagement party so I'd asked Baz if I could take him out for brekky! He said yes. Yay. So, I was 'the boy' and I went, picked him up, opened doors (did I? Maybe at Iimis, lol!), paid for the meal aaaaaand...drove and yeah. Hehe it was fun :) And I was glad - 'cause he liked his present. It was kinda a long shot. Got some clothes and some dosh towards his paintball gear - but I was kinda unsure about the clothes...they were okay! He was really interested in Sarah's scales that measured body mass, body fat and water etc. so I bought him those - long shot - but he liked! Even better!

Then we headed off to V8 in Moe - I took my camera, 'cause my lovely gave it to me a week or so early - thanks! I've stil got to figure out buttons and lightings and settings etc. though - learning! But hey, digital is good for that - take 1,000, love ten! Haha! First, we both were involved in Casual Backflip's performance. It went well I think. Shame it was short though, just getting into it and then that's all we had!

After that, Baz played in The Violent Truth (formally Salt of the Earth) with Lee and Damien. I love seeing him play in that band 'cause he really loves it. They all do, they just jam. I have this one photo of him that is quite enthusastic and animated for a bass player! No keys though, so no Breath of Life :( But, that's okay! Hopefully the recording is finished soon! I also got some nice pics of the families, Beth and her girls, Lee's girls, Jamie, Dean and their son Jesse. It was such a beautiful sunny day too (which we found out later...go the sunburn! OUCH!). They only had a short set too. Although, most of us enjoyed laughing at the screaming 'music' bands who went after these guys...they're a bit all over the place in my opinion, and apparently musically they're just noise. Screaming, pacing, girls skinny leg jeans falling half way down their backsides! Hehe.

Crossing the Gap rode on and off during the day. I got some good shots :) Jez, Baz and I did a lunch run, that was funny. Ordering Maccas for a massive crew of peoples! It was nice to get away from the noise for a little bit though - and look at some photos out of the sun glare!

I just observed too, I'm pretty sure that Baz had a nice day at V8 - with his mates, music and motorbikes...and ofcourse (I hope :-P) his girl...lol, what more could he want? ;-) Hehe. Nah, but it was good, I'm glad he got to hang out with all the Crossing the Gap blokes and his music mates on his birthday. He seemed to be enjoying himself, I was occupied by my camera a lot of the time too, so he was often off doing whatever, but I still got nice cuddles every now and then too :D s that was a bonus. It was good to see Nomes and Jon come out and have a look too.

Later on we had Joel & Rochelle's engagement party. It was a Bush Dance. Have not been to one of those in a very long time! Dad used to play in Cross-Cut? So we used to be around bush dances...ALL the time! I didn't really expect Baz to dance, well I did. 'Cause I thought he would, but I expected him to do maybe one or two aaand...not really enjoy it. But he did! There was only like 2 that he didn't dance to, and it was 'cause I dance with Esther!! :) I was so happy! It was so fun. Everyone looked like they were having such a great time. Boy, it got hot though! Mmmm...I really enjoyed the night, laughter, smiles and everyone just so friendly. Ruby, Taryn & 'Mr. Price' were there too, and even they got up and did one dance!! Baz had fun, I was glad. Even though we were both red and looked like racoons - it was still a very entertaining night! So exhausted though, I think I yawned about 20 times on the way home from Gormy to Traralgon! WHAT THE?! And my eyes were so itchy, dust and grass and motorbikes didn't help during the day...and the hay didn't help at the dance either - but it was all good! Baz said he crashed when he got home...I didn't! My feet were SO black (I was wearing bare feet, as were a few other girls at the dance), I had a shower, sun burn sting...again! And loaded my photos onto the computer...THEN I crashed.

The day was really good though. I asked Baz yesterday if he'd had a good day. He said he had but he couldn't elaborate on that. Now i know what he means, 'cause all I can say is that it was a good day. And you reading this doesn't mean you understand how good it was, lol. It was just really fun, nice weather, good company, different, photos...fun! Okay, Miss. Repetitive is signing off! :)

Oh, and it's also a year since Baz has had his Aurion! Wow, it doesn't feel like a year ago when he picked me up from work in this nice, new and shiny car! And we had to go back to Wights 'cause he didn't take the little photos of me out of his Commodore! Haha - memories!

Aiight, I'm out :)
